Hi Ken,

I have been following your recovery and blog ever since I read your story in Golf Digest. I just wanted to add my two pesos and wish you luck with your comeback. What you wrote about your son and ex-wife...I can empathize. As far as your health and golf, keep at it. There are more people than you can imagine who remember your regular tour days, know your story, and are pulling for you.

All the best,
Ed

Hi Ken,

Good to see you are continuing to take this all in stride. I wrote you an email a couple weeks ago, I'm the amputee golfer from Malvern, PA. I'm also a physical therapist. The pain you are describing sounds neurogenic, or in lay terms, caused by an injured nerve. I had that kind of pain two years ago because a nerve in my stump got entrapped against my socket. After I had the socket adjusted, I was prescribed Neurontin, which took the pain completely away in a month or so, then the nerve healed and I got rid of the pain. Honestly, you shouldn't be having the kind of pain you are now, unless something was injured and it's not healing, or your socket is causing the problem.

Email me if you'd like to discuss this further. Take care. Jim Curley, PT

Ken. I doubt you will remember me but your step mom Pat was my aunt. I remember you coming to the lake for some vacation time and having to come by the boat repair shop to fax documents to your lawyer almost daily because of all the shit your ex was putting you through. I remember going over to visit Pat and Marty and seeing you and your girlfriend with paint brushes in hand painting the house for them. I remember the German Sheppard being their supervising to make sure you were doing the job right. I remember you holding up the jet ski while I cut the rope out of the jet drive. Believe me, if I didn't trust you I wouldn't have had my head under there. I know you already know this but Pat and Marty both loved you very much. I had my doubts. A 5 time PGA Champion I figured you would just blow me off when I was there. You didn't. You are just a regular guy just like the rest of us. Now for the down side. I know you have had some terrible things happen to you. I hate to say that I can really feal your pain . I would really have not this to happen to anybody. I rented that house for 13 years. My wife died in that house in 89 at the age of 28. My oldest daughter spent her first 13 years in that house. She died at the age of 22. Your dad died in that house. Your step mom died in that house. With that said I can say that I really can feel your pain. I know you can handle all of what you have been through. Life can be cruel but I would be proud to carry your bag for you during your comeback. Go for it Ken.

Dear Ken, It is SO GREAT to hear you sounding SO positive & upbeat! YOU ARE A GREAT MAN & I'M SURE THAT YOU ARE A GREAT FATHER. It is sad when parents use their children as weapons. My mom tried to manipulate my sister & I into believing that my father was the devil, but children discover the truth, if not right away, eventually. BEST WISHES for a speedy recovery & return to the tour. Please feel free to call me if you need any positivity coaching. I worked briefly with Ryuji Imada in Hawaii and he has made 4 cuts in a row & over 150K so far. He told me his game sucked & I coached him for 7 - 10 minutes & it seems to have worked for him. 816 442 8298 520 275 0469 Sincerely yours, Kim Adele Hastert
