Ken,

I have been reading your blog for a few weeks and have taken sorrow and joy in reading it. While you have come over and endured tragedies that most of us can't fathom, you still take the high road. That is an amazing testament to you as a person. I have had my "difficulties" in life, none compares to yours but I feel a sort of kinship. I have a really good heart and just can't seem to catch a break in all of my life. But I feel that there is something bigger and better out there for me, just like you belong on the golf course. Stay strong and be positive and I will do the same, different paths but a same goal.

Be well and thanks for sharing!!

Hey Buddy! On vacation in Myrtle Beach watching the snow melt lol. Got to start going further south on these winter golf retreats. When are you coming to North Carolina? My ex-girlfiend's daughter Heather Richardson is skating in the women's 500, 1000 and 1500
Olympic speedskating races. Dan Jansen "the expert" says no Americans will medal. I say I'm tired of hearing the experts who play the game on paper or not at all. If you are not winning then someone is simply working harder. Heather for the last 15 years has never missed practice (not for the beach, proms amusement arks or anything) and did extra training on her own to get where she is this week. Pull for her please and maybe one day I can let her meet you because your determination makes you a true American hero. It must be awesome to know that for at least five weeks of your life you were unbeatable. Most people never get a day like that and you can draw off those five weeks forever. Good luck and God Bless.

Hi Ken,
Focus on the POSITIVE !!! You ARE playing golf which is a miracle in itself. I would recommend that you get the following books ASAP: The 7 Spiritual Laws of Success & Golf for Enlightenment. both are by Deepak Chopra. I promise that they will improve your life both on & off the course. You are also welcome to call me if you need a positivity fix. 520 275 0469. I BELIEVE IN YOU!!
Happy Valentine's Day. I'm a single gal so I've had to keep my temper & sadness in check whenever I go to a store this week, so that I don't throw the candy on the floor or wack the flowers up against the displays. :) Sincerely yours, Kim Adele Hastert

Love what you're doing and let what you're doing love you back. That's the key. The ups and downs are part of life's game. The Golf is something in life few get to do at the level you play the game, so let your love show so the game can love you back. Frustration is the knowledge there are better days in your future. You are doing a great job of facing the game of life and the game of golf. Keep looking for those rays of sunshine and I believe you will find them. We're only human. Best wishes for finding your own personal future, in golf and in life.

KG,
Since turning pro after heart surgery, I realized just how good everyone else was (or just how bad I was). It is hard to ignore the frustration. Missed cut after missed cut. Slamming trunk after trunk. I've quit the game about 100 times. But for some reason, I keep coming back with more fire in me. I told my wife last year that I was going to get a real job and stop chasing some crazy dream. Well, I don't have a real job and the new season is just around the corner. I am working harder than ever on my swing, fitness, etc. I am sure I will quit 4 or 5 more times this year. I can see my wife just rolling her eyeballs once again! Getting better does not happen over night. You might not see the daily improvements you have made. Believe me, you have made improvements. You are getting better. Just look back at when you first started. Let your experience guide you. I wish I had the amount of experience you have. I should only take my own advice. ha,ha. Stay cool!
