KG’s Blog Post #12 – 8/13/09 10:43pm

The legless one signing in,

Back to back blogs – yet another miracle.

The day went really well – did some swing today & never lost balance, which is good.  Remember, these were not full power swings – it was easy in the backswing & tricky coming down.  Then i actually walked with out any object (club cane women) -  never lost balance & the steps were very good.  U actually have to think about your step, which is strange to say the least – heel first and rotate down to toe,

Stan was very pleased n surprised with my progress – very good start.  Body & muscles have a long way to go, but we will get them stronger.  He says tomorrow we will test my outside walking ability – it will be fun or boom.  Will say it hurts later on, but the nerve damage will eventually leave.  Of course I believed that of nightmareonellen st.

I only wish my three best friends were here to see and not up there to watch.

I’m starting to think i might not be the worst player on the kickball team right now.  For those of u who think out side the political bank I say, i have now gone 9 weeks without golf, beer n sex – that sucks.

    Hi Ken

Have followed your career. Still remember the bright green shoes in Greensboro.
You have such a great attitude. I look forward to the day you are on tour again.
If anyone can do it, you can. You are the MAN !

    Thanks for the inspiration Ken.

    Hey Buddy,

Had an idea for a chapter and a line for the book which woke me up, so I ran up to the computer and wrote it down before it got away. This drive is going straight down the middle.

  3. Bags says:

Keep up the good work. I’ll be down next week and looking forward to coming up to see you.

Sounds like Package is getting ready for you.

Don’t worry Package, I took care of posting that 74 for you.

Keeping your balance is the key: not only in your golf swing but in your life. Things will come around and equal out in the long run. Stay positive, we all are pulling for you.

I’ve been reading your blogs to keep up with your progress. I pass on the jokes to those here at the beach. Keep going brother! We just returned from a 2 week road trip – back home in Michigan and around the UP to Minnesota to see Stacy’s family. We traveled 4000 miles with the 2 monkeys in the back. As you can imagine many references to the movie Vacation. Rusty and Audrey are just fine, thanks for asking Uncle Eddie.

I didn’t go to the “last” Buick Open(even though we were in town) but I’ve seen plenty, it was in my hometown and I remember as a very young lad this strange guy with green shoes win that tournament. Some of us remember your first victory.

Both Stacy and I can’t wait to see you in South Florida and can’t wait until we play again. Remember that 3 wood out of the bunker at Medalist from about 230 – I think your still pissed. Golden Boy loved it, J-dub didn’t.

Hello Pro..great news…keep up the progress…I’ll buy you all the beer and women you want. As far as my round…all my misses were straight this time instead of the usual out-of-bounds. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while…hahaha…see you soon Pro.

  7. Rogo says:

Way to go Green…Your progress will be exponetial for awhile and I’m sure you’ll be able to kick everyone’s soon. I’m figuring by labor day, you should be a 10 handicap??

BTW, I was looking at some of the “vintage” photos of your wins on tour…you were not a bad looking guy when you were thin and had hair!

    Keep pushing your recovery program!

  8. McElbee says:

Package played great in the Friday group, “74″. However, I don’t think it will make the Gihn System. He’s been reported to the handicap Nazi’s.

Regardless, he was solid all day.

  9. Gary Perkinson says:

Way to go, KG! Beer can’t be far behind….

  10. Justin Case says:

    Hey Ken!
So glad to hear about your progress. The original KG humor keeps your blogs extremely personal not to mention classy haha!
The transition from “three best friends…” to “not the worst player on the kickball team” bright me from holding back tears to belting out laughter.
And on side note from yesterday, I also concur with the Colonel. You are a great friend and I feel honored to have grown up around you.
You’re still in my prayers and I’m lokng forward to visiting when I return from California.
    Brotherly love, Justin.

  11. Pete Geiger says:

We miss you in the Tuesday group at the Ridge but know you will be back with that humor to carry you there. We all are thinking of you and wishing nothing but the best in the coming days. Keep up with the positive thoughts !!!

    Pete Geiger

  12. Mex says:

Do you have any friends that really think “inside” the political bank that are not lawyers? I think most of the rest of us are out there with you. I have a couple of my own nightmare streets in my past…

Glad to hear that you are moving forward on your journey back to the top – remember the only job that you start at the top is digging a hole. Sorry, that is the best this Mex can come up with.

Thinking about you a lot – continued good luck.

  13. Don Watkins says:

You always had good balance and had eye when you were drunk so your progress does not surprise me at all. Keep it up! Wad

  14. Craig Thomas says:

    Hey Ken,

The entourage out here is fitted with our Green ribbons!! Nothing but well wishes for you from everyone out here Minnesota. Real excited to hear about your progress, keep up the good work. Don’t forget I’m on the bag come next spring, we have some unfinished business out in CA, and Ro wants to join us in the Dominican.

    All the best

    The Kid

  15. Chuck Almond says:
