KG’s Blog Post #187 – 9/3/13 12:01am (Bad Break Healthwise in prep. for Montreal, but…)
Well damn boy! Rough early start to the event in Montreal [Montreal Champions Event Sept6-8 http://www.championstourmontreal.com/home ]. The ugly world of amputees raised its ugly self. A nasty open wound (as you can see) decide to say hello. The wound is on my right front part of my stump which may even stop me from playing. It’s a bummer, cause anywhere else on the body and it’s just a ugly sore open wound but inside the liner is a nightmare. This will take about 10 days to heal and I shouldn’t be on my leg, but I haven’t quite mastered the 1-legged golf swing yet so screw it.
My plan is to stay off it until Wednesday and then try and play in the pro am, stay off it on Thursday (tourn. is Fri-Sun). The friction is created down there with the liner and heat and god knows what else goes on down there. Then the mega twisting the golf swing creates will make it hard to impossible, but I will not quit unless it’s purely impossible to make legitimate golf swings. I’m not real thrilled with the timing of all this but who is when things go south. I’ll keep you posted.
