Good god all wowsy! I”m pretty much shocked that I went around and shot 73 [2013 Montreal Championship, Champs Tour, Sept6-8 http://www.championstourmontreal.com/home ].
It was windy and the course is just tough anyhow. I think 7 people cracked par and it was barely. I made bogey on the first from the fairway but that was more nerves than just missing the iron shot. From there I hit the driver pretty good for me and missed only 2 fairways which clearly gave me a chance. When I say I had only one legit birdie putt, I”m telling you the truth, I hit it to 15 feet on 16 and made it plus I holed a bunker shot on 8 for my 2 birdies for the day. I only picked off 8 greens, but many of them were good shots that would just roll over the greens.
I can”t even begin to tell you how great it felt to be out there an actually feeling like I was playing some golf. The pain was manageable to boot. The wound is not getting worse so that”s a good thing also. I have no idea what”s in store the next 2 days, but no matter what this week has been a big step because it tells me I”m moving in the right direction and can play some decent golf still.
The people and media up here have been fantastic. The story of fight & hope is being delivered loud and strong and I can”t do it without both parties. I can”t even remember how many TV & media interviews I”ve done.
I truly believe next year is going to be big story telling time with nothing but positive results. Tomorrow I will fight like hell, good or bad.
